Reading learning designed for both parent and children from prep to grade 2. Both must attend.

Designed for both parents and their children from prep to grade 2 to engage in Readers learning activities together.
The session will focus on:
providing age appropriate, fun, engaging multi-sensory reading experiences.

Reading learning designed for both parent and child from grade 3 to 6. It is strongly advised for a parent to attend as well but not mandatory.

Designed for children from grade 3 to 6 to engage in authentic and motivating readers learning activities together.
The session will focus on providing age appropriate, fun, engaging multi-sensory reading experiences.

Parents Home Teaching

Designed specifically for parents of primary school children

An information session for parents who would like tips and strategies to support the learning of their primary school aged child/children at home.
The session will focus on tips for transitioning back to school, good study habits, setting learning goals, open-ended questioning, how to scaffold learning, developing inquiry learners, promoting emotional intelligence, fun family activities, talking about learning, learning tools to always have at home and online resources.

Designed for parents with specific learning needs of their children.

Learning

Designed to assist parents who would like tips and strategies to support the learning of their primary school aged child with specific learning needs.
Learn how be your child’s champion with High Impact Teaching Strategies in Action; multi-sensory maths activities, maths activities for kids who need to move; organisation, time-management, attention, concentration and working memory strategies. Learn about tools and strategies to help: reluctant readers and writers as well as children with dyslexia, ASD and ADHD to help them feel successful and enthusiastic learners.

Peta Henshelwood – Bio

Peta obtained a Bachelor of Education, from the University of Tasmania, Australia. She is currently in her 26th year of teaching, having taught in pre-school and primary schools in Victoria.
As well as international schools in Norway, Manila, the Philippines, Japan and China.
She is currently proprietor of a small business called, TIME2 Active8 your learning potential. Peta is passionate about helping families develop educational wellbeing, to feel empowered as life-long learners.
